About the event
The workshop is suitable for adult beginners with no experience of willow weaving or those who have already tried it. Amanda will guide you through the process of creating your sculpture step by step and give you options so that you can customise your sculpture. All materials will be provided, however willow weaving is messy activity so please wear old comfortable clothing or an apron.
About Amanda:
“I fell in love with willow at Christmas 2000 when I was a student in a willow weaving workshop, and it has been my material of choice ever since. The willow I use is grown on the Somerset Levels within a mile of my house making it a local and sustainable material. However, being a full-time teacher weaving was just a hobby as I never had the time to fully commit to my art. That all changed in 2022 when after 33 years…
